| When stainless steel pipes are assembled, they must always be pre-assembled in a hardened pre-assembly adapter. They must never be assembled directly in the stainless steel adapter! The cones of the pre-assembly adapters are susceptible to wear and must therefore be inspected at regular intervals to check that they are still true to gauge.
